On How Agents Make Friends: Mechanisms for Trust Acquisition

چکیده
We need models of trust to facilitate cooperation in multi-agent systems, where agents, human and artificial, do not know each other beforehand. This paper lists and proposes simple mechanisms for trust acquisition based on a very basic and general definition of trust, making no assumptions on the internal cognitive models of the involved agents. We also show how trust acquired one-on-one can be propagated in a social network of agents.

A Conceptual Trust Framework for Semantic Web Agents
In order for the true potential of Semantic Web agents to be realized, the Semantic Web must contain resources and mechanisms that allow agents to make the same types of qualitative judgments about trust that are intuitively and often unconsciously made by their human counterparts. This paper presents an overview of existing research on trust on the Semantic Web. In this paper, the attributes o...

متن کاملA Translation Mechanism for Recommendations
1 An important class of distributed Trust-based solutions is based on the information sharing. A basic requirement of such systems is the ability of participating agents to effectively communicate, receiving and sending messages that can be interpreted correctly. Unfortunately, in open systems it is not possible to postulate a common agreement about the representation of a rating, its semantic ...

Trust and reputation mechanisms are often used in peer-to-peer networks, multi-agent systems and online communities to differentiate among members of the community as well as to recommend service providers. Although different users have different needs and expectations in different aspects of the service providers, few exiting trust models use differentiated trust values for judging different a...
